What we do
Appointments are held during working hours and conducted either on-site or at a suitable local venue. The service is completely confidential. Results are posted to the home address and a further copy is sent to the G.P., normally within 5 working days.
Health screening often detects problems people have before they are aware of any physical symptoms.
We offer:
- Blood Pressure Measurement.
- Manual Breast Examination &Teaching of Breast Self – Awareness.
- Chlamydia testing for both men and women.
- Blood tests to detect anaemia, measure liver, kidney & thyroid function, cholesterol & glucose levels.
- Bone density assessment by ultrasound.
- Teaching testicular self - examination using a demonstration model.
- Prostatic Specific Antigen Blood Test - a diagnostic aid to screening for disorders of the Prostate Gland, including Prostate cancer.
- Haemocult Test - detects bleeding from the stomach or intestines, critical in the diagnosis of many diseases, for example bowel cancer.
The purpose of health screening is not only to identify potential health risks but also to reassure clients that they are fit and well.
